What EMT passes & cards are available?

Personalized: these cards contain personal information & a photograph and are for the cardholder's sole use. They can be used to store ONE kind of pass only:

EMT Bono Oro (Pensioner's BusPass)

AT (monthly pass) - valid for combined travel on EMT buses & underground 

B-T pass (10 combined EMT bus/underground jorneys);

Bonobús Plus pass (10 unlimited 60-minute EMT bus journeys).

Non-personalized: these cards can be used to store all kinds of passes which do not require passenger ID, for example B-T passes or Bonobús Plus passes. Only ONE kind of pass can be stored on each card.

If I hold my card over the red card reader, will the reader register more than one journey?

No. If you hold your card over the red card reader, only one journey will be registered. If you wish to register more than one journey, you should move the card away from the reader and then hold back it over the reader again.

How to use the card mobilis?

In EMT must show all the titles to the driver before validating. To validate the card, just bring the red circle that is in the machines and if validadoras right turn on a green light and sound. If you are traveling with several people Bonobús Plus remembers zoom in and out the card to the red point many times as there are people in the group.

How can I find out how many journeys are left on my card or when my pass expires?

Every time you touch in using your card, the card reader on the bus will identify what kind of pass you are using & will tell you when your pass expires or how many journeys you have left. You can also check this information at tobacconists or newsagents where bus passes & cards are on sale.

By downloading CONSULTA SALDO app onto your mobile phone or PDA & following the instructions.

What happens if the card reader cannot read my card or if my card doesn’t work?

It is rare for our cards to stop working as they have undergone strict quality controls, but if you have any problems with your card, please follow the driver's instructions and then contact Customer Services on 963158515 (Monday - Friday, 8.00 a.m. - 9.00 p.m. and Saturday 9.00 a.m. - 2.00 p.m.)

I have registered a Móbilis card in my name and it contains a Bonobús Plus pass. Does this mean that only I can use it?

As a Bonobús Plus pass is transferable, anyone you wish can use it even if the Móbilis card is registered in your name.

If I lose my card, can my unused journeys be loaded onto a new card?

If you lose a Móbilis card with unused Bonobús Plus journeys and you have previously registered it, your unused journeys are safe. You can report the loss of a registered card by calling Customer Services on 963158515 (Monday - Friday, 8.00 a.m. - 9.00 p.m. and Saturday 9.00 a.m. - 2.00 p.m.).

We confirm your balance after 48 hours of the notice of your loss.

How do I know that the card reader has read my card correctly?

When you touch in, a green light accompanied by a high-pitched bleep means that your card has been accepted for travel. The card reader will tell you what kind of pass you are using & how many journeys are left or when your pass expires.

A red light, accompanied by a low-pitched bleep means that your card has been rejected. The card reader will tell you why.

When I touch in, do I need to remove my card from its plastic holder, my wallet or bag?

On all EMT buses, you should remove your card from its holder, your bag or wallet and show it to the driver before touching in.

Can I store different passes on the same card?

Yes. At present you can store two kind of pass on the same card. You can store up to bonobús + bonometro.

Do I have to pay for a new card every time I buy a pass?

No. You only have to pay for the card once - when you first buy it. The card is reusable, so when you next buy a Bonobús Plus pass or a B-T pass, you won't have to pay for another card.

How many journeys can be stored on a card?

You can store up to 30 journeys on your card. Each Bonobús Plus pass or B-T pass contains 10 journeys, so you can purchase 1, 2 or 3 passes at any one time.

Can I use a card belonging to another person?

Personalized cards (i.e. cards with photo, name & ID number) are non-transferable and are for the cardholder's use only. Non-personalized cards (e.g. Móbilis cards) can be used by anybody.

Anybody who holds a personalized card storing a B-T pass or a Bonobús Plus pass can use it to pay for up to 15 passengers, providing they are travelling with the cardholder.

When can you check that a charge has been made to a card?

The credit on your card can be checked at the point of sale, at any card reader or at the EMT Customer Service office. If you wish to check by phone or on-line information accurate to the previous day from the first validation can be provided.
